Global Announcement
Have a problem you're really stuck with? Here are your go-to guys.
Recently we contacted some members on this forum who were known for technical prowess with cars in general and Audis in particular, in order to establish a Tech team as a go-to source when you have a really tough issue and you just can't seem to solve it. That team has been established. I don't consider it a completed team and welcome any nominations or volunteers to be added - the broader the technical skill we can bring to the forefront here, the better. As outlined in a previous announcement, there are two classifications. Tech Certified guys are professional wrenches with a wide array of skills and knowledge, and Tech Gurus are guys that aren't pro mechanics, but are avid enthusiasts who have learned their skills by getting bloody and dirty under the hood.
The initial crew consists of two Tech Cert mechanics (members M5S5 and Audi Tek), and the Gurus are members turbo kraut, MetalMan, redline380 (each of whom primarily is a 1.8T engine guy, but who each also have other areas of expertise), BaseDrifter (formerly lm0812, engine/brakes/suspension), FASTER (performance specialist), and airguard350 (paint and body). If needed, I can contribute on brakes, suspension, electronics, and 2.8L tech.
The point of this is, if you are stuck and having trouble getting your answers from the general forum population, PM one of these guys and chances are you'll get the help you need. They all contribute regularly in the threads, but this way you know who to call when you're up a creek with no paddle. All have agreed to pitch in their considerable experience and knowledge to help you get your ride back in top shape and will be a valuable asset to the forum.
Anyone else interested, please PM me, and make use of these guys - they know their stuff and will prove to be a great asset going forward.
