Default After Market radio - Help

Ok - so I've installed Aprox. 20+ Radios in cars. Why the hell is the Audi install so much harder.
I got the full kit from Crutchfield - so it came w/ the scosche install kit. The DIN sleeve was so effing hard to put in, it wasn't even funny. Had to shave plastic and ridges to get it in. Now - my biggest problem is the Kitpanel that came with this kit from crutchfield. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-f0kQfiB...p;I=142AU2300B

Now if you observe it says for 96 and up SELECT audi's w/ bose. A4/6/8 - no TT. Crutchfield INSISTS it will work.

I call bullshit. Any of you with kits/Aftermarket head unit installs - send me a link or a pic of how yours looks. Crutchfield is gonna send me another panel kit and ill try once more.

the problem im having is the freaking trim plate. Im so pissed off that I think im just gonna leave it look nasty because that piece Doesnt fit. I smashed it in there after my 14th calm attempt and it blew apart lol.
Honestly this is the most aggrivating stereo install i've ever attempted. And removing the Bose head was lethal. Those sharp as crap din removers slice super good.

Im gonna pass out now and try again tomorrow with it. Scosche doesnt make a TT specific kit...only A4/6/8 soo..guess ill keep browsing.

The size for the radio on the TT model is very tight, your gonna have to shave off a little on either the aftermarket trim or the factory dash to get it to fit correctly. I had to do it a couple of times at the dealer, shaving off a little on the factory dash seems easier.

I got the trim plate off ebay and yes it doesent Fit . I think it was by Turbo or Metra. You gotta cram it in there and if your lucky it wont pop back out on you... Yep I went through that. I got so pissed off I took the Instabond Glue with the Spray that makes it dry like instant and Glued that Beoch In there. It hasent moved a hair sence :-D

I had a similar experience. I installed the IVA-D310 in my TT and the trim panel STILL popps out. I think I'll just buy the aluminum one from TTstuff and call it a day. I need to re-seat the radio anyhow and try to get it in so the aluminum TT door closes over it. Wish me luck.

So after shaving quite a bit of the ridges/bumps off from inside the stereo cavern of stress...The cage fits flawlessly - Am able to push the CD Player all the way back and shut the door too (thank god...)

Now for the OSIR Trim Plate - Is anyone here using that plate? I'd like to know how well it fits/Stays before I drop $40 on a trim panel. Very happy to see a more ridgid, Vehicle Speicific, plate however
