Default ABT SPOILER REAR WING

Hi Guys,

I bought a ABT rear wing recently, took the car and the parts to the garage today, and it seems that the rear wing doesn't actually fit the profile of the car! The spoiler is actually a discontinued part, but i managed to track it down at thettshop.com.. The package just came with one piece and no instructions whatsoever! The guy from the garage is refusing to fit the rear wingon until he has the instructions/some1(who knows his stuff) to tellhim how to fit it on!

HELP!!!!!! ANY1 HAVE ANY IDEAS????????

check out the linksbelow 2 see which ABT rear wing i'm going on about!

http://www.thettshop.com/abt.asp?cat...product=701652#

Cheers

I can't imagine it being a difficult installation.
The garage guy just doesn't want to be responsible. Did it come with any mounting hardware? A little more on: "it seems that the rear wing doesn't actually fit the profile of the car!"

nope no mounting hardware or anything of that sort.. Just the rear wing, and thats it.. well i did think the garage dude was kinda blowing it outta proportion but im just disappointed that he might actually refuse to fit it on!

Some say that the rear wing is fitted onto the existing spoiler...well thats what he was told apparantly, and when he fitted the wing onto the car, the edges stick up.. there's a big gap between the car and the rear wing on either sides, which shouldn't really be the case.

It probably needs to be molded on...after seeing the pic I see that TT has a shaved antenna..he may have had the spoiler just molded when he did the other stuff...

ur right.. it does have 2 be molded on, but you would have to put the wing under alot of pressure in order to blend it in onto the rear profile of the car.. he reckons that if he does that, thewing may snap at high speeds due to alot of stress/tension.. hence y he's refusing to fit it without proper instructions..

Looks like you remove the stock and reuse the stock hardware for the new wing.

Don't know if this is the model you have:
The ABT 'DTM' boot spoiler is one of our most popular boot spoilers as it gives a subtle enhancement, and is one of the easiest to fit, as it just bonds on top of the TT's standard boot spoiler after painting.

If not maybe there's a reason your model was discontinued.
I'm thinking body filler.

No, its not the DTM spoiler, i have the ABT REAR WING... the reason why the ABT rear wing was discontinued was because not only was it expensive to buy but alsoexpensive to fit. The cost of fitting the spoiler is actually more than the cost of the actual spoiler itself, so not manycustomers bought it.

do us all a favor a take a pic of the bottom. That way we can get a better idea of how its mounted. Its starting to sound like it just takes a strong adhesive to hold it in place
