^ it was the bolts/nuts/washers that kind of rattled off. they seemed to have fixed that problem. and the gains you will experience with a cat-back is merely a placebo effect.

sux that the quattro DP's cost so fukking much. $600 for a damn DP! wtf!
It has been dyno proven (read Project TT@ Fourtitude) that both downpipe and cat back seperately give good gains...coupled together = NICE! You are correct about the rattles being loose hardware, it has happened to me and I have blown gaskets. Mine would come loose right behind the first O2 sensor causing the rest of the down pipe to move alot. I replaced the hardware and gaskets with better stuff and used thread lock, no problem since (happened twice). The reason the DP's cost so much is the only other place you can get one is thru APR unless you go custom as far as I know. APR's DP is about 1100 so 600 isn't to bad if you look at it that way. But all in all yes...it is an expensive dp.

WTF would you want a cat, I lovemy race series and its cheaper!! The rattle can be solved by a upgraded dogbone mount, cost as little as $20

some people like their car to conform to certain legal technicalities.

I have the street series but my test pipe is sitting on the table. It must of just got here....it's wrapped. I play dumb to my wifelike I don't know what it is..bday is coming shortly and that is something I asked for. Long box, sorta heavy....duh. I purchased the cat option upfront because I am in a state that does emissions, WA. BUT for only $90 (my wife paid)I will now have both options.

As far as the rattling goes, I have heard some were having this issue with the DP...I almost got the dog bone kit myself thinking it would cure it. For ME, after doing a little investigating, I found it was only loose hardware causing the pipe to rattle around. Once replaced with better hardware I haven't had any issues.

well im in texas, and we have emissions, but i wont have to get the car inspected for another 2 years.
But i want to stay legal as possible to avoid hassles in the future, but the race series looks so tempting.

^ we have stake out vans on highways here in southern california that shoot ultra violet rays at the rear of your car to detect your pollutants comming from your exhaust.

personally i'd go testpipe, but the law of california says go hi-flow cats.
