42 Draft downpipe questions
I have a 2000 TT 180hp Quattro, completely stock (no mods). The flexible part of the downpipe has failed. My local shop is quoting me $410 for an Audi downpipe and gaskets. The 42 Draft street series downpipe with the cat and all mounting hardware is $575, so it would seem like an opportunity to get some extra performance for just a bit more money.
I am wondering if those of you that have done this upgrade might answer a few questions:
1) Will the 42 Draft street series downpipe work with the stock computer, and not produce check engine lights or other issues? I'm not interested in chipping the car at this time.
2) Is it significantly louder, or only a little louder?
3) I've read some of the other posts that indicate there might be a lot more noticeable vibration with the bigger downpipe. How much vibration?
4) Any other concerns doing the downpipe upgrade without making any other changes to the car?
Thanks

Yes it will work with the stock ecu. If you get the cat, you shouldnt get a cel but it has happened and a o2 spacer makes it go away.
It shouldnt be any louder with a cat, only slightly w/o one since you still have a massive stock muffler.
The dp hits a bit when the motor moves. Get some dogbone bushings from ecstuning.com and it will stop the engine from moving.
The ecu can compensate for a good amount of changes without the need for a retune.
