Default 3 inch catback and coil overs

So I went to my exhaust shop today to see what they would quote me to build my custom catback with the borla xr-1. They told me to go 2.5 inch because the 3 inch would rub if I lowered the car with coils which im planning on doing in december. Anyone have any input on this i really want a 3 inch exhaust not 2.5 due to future plans with the 50 trim .

uhhhhh... .5 inch will make you rub?

I think he just doesn't have, or can't bend 3" piping.

you can make a 3" work. Plenty of low *** cars have them. They are just worried about clearing the rear frame section.

yeah dude, that's bullshit. If your close to south Florida, my boy will make you a sick cat back set up for 2 or 300$. Dude is a magician with a welder. And his prices are more than reasonable. You would have to buy your own muffler tho.

i have 3" 42DD DP + Bilstein PSS9. I lowered a little bit more than a inch in front and back. Still have lots of room... I would have to like jump a ramp or steep incline to rub to hit it...

Here is a pic of my custom 3" catback on my FWD TT. You will probably end up with some vibrations, especially if you go BT, but they will mainly be from the DP. It is easy to make the catback not hit the rear subframe.

how bad are the vibrations from a DP? if i have any issues, im not likely to keep a DP.

they are not that bad at all only really noticeable at idle, the vibrations I am experiencing is partly because I have the kinetic exhaust manifold which moves the DP a little bit. but I doubt you will have the issues I have because you have a 225Q and I have a fwd.
