2nd gear crunch

RE: 2nd gear crunch
are you refering to the 1..2 shift. It just sucks. If you shift above 5.5k you may get it to grind a little and if you shift lower your fine. Some have had it reduced a little by changing the gear oil to redline.

Mine does the same thing, When I had my clutch replaced they said the sincro's just suck donk....if i swap them its going to do the same thing.
Just shift early, depending on what turbo you have you may want to shift early anyways during hard acceleration because our boost almost cuts out after 5.5k anyways...
I've found faster 0 - 60 time shifting earlier at the end of 2nd gear.
Cheers,

RE: 2nd gear crunch
Funny, I've never ran into this problem - at any RPM - other than it may get hard to pull it into 2nd - but I've never crunched, grinded or hiccupped while shifting. Hope mine never develops this problem - knock on wooden head - ouch! [&:]

RE: 2nd gear crunch
Mine also does it and so did my 02 180hp TT i had before this one.
It's gotta be a common TT problem.
I did learn if you shift *like* your going to do clutchless shifting trying to push the clutch in and shift at that split sec slip point it won't grind.
people who have done clutchless shifting or driven a big rig know what i'm talking about.
