225TT 10.04 @ 1/8 mile
Hi everyone, I took my 225 TT to the track and I race several times. I'm kind of worry because my best time on the track was 10.04 (1/8of a mile)and my reaction time was really good. I've got some mods ( Giac pump software, Evo diverter valve and K&N box filter). If I'm not wrong I should be doing much better. is there a problem with the car? or I suck running it? Thanks.

shouldnt be to bad 1/4 time. I would go with driving skills as the weakest part (no offense). The reason i say this is it seems this is your first time running it. What were your shift points, what rpm did you launch at,and what gear did you finish in?

So, having the computer chipped doesn't really make a difference? I have to say; it was my first time running this car, but I been racing on that track for years with different cars, I guess I'm gonna have to keep practicing my shifting times and my reaction so I can get to the 9's because running with turbo it's totally different.

you gained about 30+hp, i i think its worth it.
Its really based on your:
launch (try 2500-4000rpms whatever works best), slowly let off the clutch
shift points: dont take it to red line, shift when boost starts to fall off aroun 5-5.5k rpms

I,m gonna try what u say, one of my boys have a 1.8t beetle and he told me something similar and he was making around 10.20 which is really good for a stock beetle. I live in socal and the temp here is around 100 degrees at night, do you think that'd affect the performance of the car? I heard that changing the temp sensor (to green) would help, what'd u know about that?

temps sensor is for coolent, but if you have a black one, that will fail soon enough.
The temp outside plays a huge part in a turbo cars performance. 100* compared to 60* can mean 5-10hp and a tenth or 2 in time.
it just takes practice and you should be low 9's (guessing since i dont run 1/8ths)

???????????? 10 second 1/8th mile?? Thats a low 15 second 1/4 mile NOT very good...... And you reaction time has nothing to do with your time....look at your 60 fts..... Somethins a bit off.... your 1/8 mile time should be in themid 8 low 9 second range at most with what you have done........ I RAN
