2001 audi tt quattro compressor
Today my AC would not blow cold air, both radiator fans run. When turning the ac on and off there was no engagement of the compressor clutch.
There is no leak
There is freon in the system, and it is not overfilled
All connectors are connected
We tried to test the electronic clutch by directly connecting it to 12v, no click, or anything.
This leads me to believe that the compressor clutch coilpack is worn out/broken.
does this seem to be the culprit with anyone that has dealt with this in the past?
Thanks

so found the problem.
I spent one day diagnosing and troubleshooting to find that the electronic clutch was indeed the problem. and later found the clutch completely ripped off the compressor later.
I ordered a reman compressor instead of going threw the trouble of getting all the necessary tools to attach a new clutch to my compressor.
It comes in and I get to work taking out the compressor, which is quite a job. Took out the activated charcoal filter, alternator, and a couple of hoses to get down to the compressor. finaly get it out and the end of day one.
Day two, fit new compressor into car, attach hoses and reassemble the rest of the car. I vacuum the system, find no leaks, and continue to fill with freon. It takes about half a bottle and saying its way to much pressure, increase the RPM and no change. take a test drive. no change. we decide something else must be the problem. we trouble shoot some more. and decide it was the expansion valve.
We travel to autozone and get another new expansion valve. get home and install the valve, vacuum and charge same problem....
more troubleshooting
We take the expansion valve loose. unplug the compressor and bypass everything with a 12v lead to battery. start car and see if the compressor was actually doing anything. it was barely running
Now in the process of returning the faulty compressor for a new one.
lesson to be learned
dont trust "new" or "re manufactured" parts to be working, test first.
now i have to do this total of 10hours of work a second time, and possible be without a car for a week.
