Default 2000 TT problems, i need solutions

ok, here's what's wrong with my 2000 1.8t quattro TT:

the engine sounds like it's grinding something when it reaches about 3000rpm and then on an off until the red. I also think i have lost some power.

the suspension makes a lot of noise everytime it compresses, this noise is louder on some days and not so loud some others.

abs light will stay on and then my abs brakes activate when i brake, even if i am on a flat surface doing 10mph with no rain, dirt, or anything undernear me. this only happens every once in a while when the light turns off, and then the light comes back on and everything gets back to normal, sand my ability to use abs.

i would appreciate any input, i will have the timing belt changed this weekend so hopefully that will fix something. if anyone has any tips, please let me know. thanks...

Ok, two weeks ago, I had the same problem. I heard a lot of grinding noise....clearly enough it was my water pump and timing belt that broke. I had no idea what was going on with my car. It happen so suddenly!

The suspension noise under compression could be the sway bar bushings. It's probably quieter when it's wet out? They get dry and make a lot of noise. They are about $10 and take about 30 minutes to install in you're driveay. Make sure you grease up the inside of the bushings with some lithium grease before reinstalling.

ON the ABS issue, take your rotors off, get some compressed air, and blow all the crud out of the ABS sensor, and make sure the slotted wheel it reads is fairly clean looking. See if that helps any. The sensor uses a magnet, and metallic road debris get stuck to it, sometimes to the point that it doesn't see the wheel as moving anymore, so it activates the ABS.
