RE: 180 to 225 exhaust conversion
i know[8D] they have to make a little something for everyone. but you see my point about the TT it really should only come AWDor RWD...hmmm wonder how a RWD TT would be? gotta love the drift action like a supra or IS300 has...i would love to drive a turbo IS 300...fun fun and oh yea more fun.

I've found a few perhaps trivial advantages of FWD.
1. It gets slightly better gas mileage than quattro. Bout 2mpg diff EPA estimate.
Let's estimate a rough figure. You drive your car 10,000 miles a year and get 30mpg and gas is $3 average=$1000 of gas. You drive your car 10,000 miles a year get 28mpg and average $3 of gas=$1071 of gas. Sweet! That's almost enough to pay for alignment at the dealer...since shops can't do it for $40 cuz they have to fuggin calibrate the steering sensor (I guess for ASR).
2. More parts. You can buy basically any part (minus suspension) made for a MkIV 1.8T GTI. You have a wide choice of turbo manifolds since you don't have the quattro drivetrain obstructing your space. This also makes it easier to fab your own exhaust components for a custom turbo setup.
3. Cheaper parts. Since you can use almost anything off a GTI, it makes stuff pretty cheap. A good 3" downpipe isntead of being $600 from 42DD is $100 from eBay. Also you no longer have a reason to buy an expensive out the *** haldex controller ($700-$1000? That's more than an ECU. Bitch plz.)
So in the realm of modding the FWD TT does exactly what it's supposed to do in the realm of stock automobiles: act as a cheaper alternative for those who don't want to (or can't) invest more money into it.
