Default 12 second car

What turbo would give me a 12 second car without having lots of lag?

people have been hitting 12's with a t3 60trim or gt28rs (about the same size turbo). This would be the smallest turbo to get you there. You can get there with the stock one, but you need to strip everything or get nitrous

Which one would be safest? Any way these cars could keep up with cobra's?

The turbo. VW people with apr stg 3+ kits run high 12's and have 0 issues. Add having a 225, the kit comes with a 2871r which should move you to the mid 12's. With the weight, i would stick with a .63 or .64 gt2871r. you will make great power and still reach your goals. If you have a 2871r, you should be able to keep up with an older cobra, the new 500hp one.... doubtful.

NO not the newer ones but the older body stlye ones is all I would need. I didnt even think those 500hp ones were out yet. So ok, thats my goal, I am gonna try and hit it in a year. That would be awesome. For now i'm just gonna piece it together one by one.
