Default 1.8T APR Chip on High Mile 180TT Quattro

Hey Guys, I just got a 2000 TT 180hp Quattro with 110,xxx miles and are looking into getting a APR chip. Its been extremely well maintained and has all the service records. My previous b5 S4 had a APR chip from 60k and i drove it to 145k and then sold it. My turbos went @ 135K, and don't know how much that had to do with APR or other factors. I am not as worried as replacing the turbo on this 1.8T because it is much less of a job and half the parts, but turbo life is still a factor. What experiences have you all had with chipping your high mileage 1.8t TT?? I know its only a modest amount of HP/torque increase, but do I need to consider the drivetrain? Are their any other factor i should consider? The S4 had no problem handling it, but that is a much more beefy design. Thanks in advance for you help!

ok, i don't have a tt, but i do have a 1.8t, and i just took out my turbo to get a gtrs turbo

i had my tuning on the car for about 40k, and the turbo has almost no shaft play in it

the little that is there....i would have to say is normal...if any it is front to back not side to side at all

i would say go for it, and if the turbo goes, upgrade.... i don't see any long term or short on the drivetrain

Thanks Turbo for the advice, do you think as far as the engine itself, the turbo is what would take most accelerated wear? Do you know approx what the boost is increased too? I just dont want any internal engine wear.

factory should be about 8, tuning ups it to about 18....

there have been alot of people on the forums that have done tuning later in the life of the car with no ill effects....... can't say you won't get it.......... i have seen or heard of stranger
