'03 and Sirius
I just bought a new to me 2003 TT 225. It has the Bose audio system, which is OK for me, but lacks integrated Sirius and iPod control. I can add the iPod with a Dice controller, but I haven't been able to find the satellite solution. Anyone have a good solution that doesn't require an aftermarket head unit?

Im pretty sure I was in the exact same boat.... what I found that with the "concert 2" system with the cd changer , there is supposedly an adaptor(a few actually that you can find on the net, maybe crutchfield) for the changer to allow ipod input into it... I think with that you may get just a regular mini audio jack, allowing you to plug your ipod or your glass mounted sirius radio...
I opted to get the Alpine 9885 and the kit to make it fit into the space... I LOVE it, the model I have has input for ipod, sirius (or xm), aux, in addition to the cd and radio....the Alpine controls the ipod, and it is very fast, older models lagged badly.... the kit mounts the head a bit recessed to allow the TT door to close, but I think it looks cool... also I put a single R type 12"sub in the back in a sealed enclosure using my old 600w amp that I had.... the Alpine is running through the bose stock speaker/amp combo and all is well... someday I may replace the door and rear speakers to truly allow for fading front to rear, but for now the alpine mated to the bose stuff sounds pretty darn sweet... oh, and a 12" R type( dual 4ohm coil) is just sick loud if you need it and hides nicely in the trunk leaving plenty or cargo/grocery room left over!

P.S. The install was neat and tidy, so if I ever sell or whatever, the bose head can go right back, no nasty alterations were needed!

If I do an aftermarket solution, that is exactly then one I'll do, except for the sub. So, you hooked up to the bose amp and verything works OK? you mentioned you don't have fader. Is that because of the Bose interface? Did you buy the stuff from Crutchfield? Thanks

RE: '03 and Sirius
well, I let the local guys do it because they matched crutchfield.... but yes, it hooked right up to the powered speakers (bose) and since the bose system used the 4 speakers as a "pair" I was stuck with that configuration for now... the bose system uses the back ones as sortof a deep/bass deal... In spite of that it sounds awesome! I may someday just go for it and install alpine type R speakers everywhere and mate w an alpine amp and have fade, etc... but I'm more than good for now.
I gotta say, the sub makes every type of music sound more live, real, full... the alpine has a true crossover, so it separates out the lows.
crutchfield is throwing in the ipod cable and install kit too if you become interested
