Default 01 TT 225 or 02 TT 180

SO heres the deal, have been trying to find a TT coupe 225 but havent had much luck. somewhat decided on a 2002 TT 180 coupe with 89,000 on it and seemingly well taken care of. Have looked at it and taken it for a few test drives. Price would be between 8-8500.

In the mean time have found a 2001 TT 225 with 125,000 on it. Current asking price is 8200 and hoping i can get it down closer to 7500.

I am somewhat new to Audi so looking for some forum input as it hasnt failed me on my bike and snowmobile.
So what do people think? Go with lower mileage car and do tune, air intake and exhaust?

Or go with the 01 with highermileage but already some exhaust work done?

Both have had the timing belt and water pump done

Thanks in advance

my 99.5 1.8T A4 has 163K miles on it, and still running strong

so really, your questions is: do you want 225 HP or 180 HP?

both got sold from under you? Maybe it just wasn't meant to be. Keep your eye out for a good deal, and eventually one will come your way. That's how I got my S4. I was "looking" for over a year for a great deal, and this one popped up. I couldn't pass. Sure, it may have high miles and needs a little TLC, but I now own an '06 S4 for about the same price as you were looking at those TT's.

Well actually the 180 i made an offer on pending headlight fix and steering control sensor. Guy calls me back saying its costing about 1600 for the repairs so he now has to bump price up to over 9,000. I'm out!
Possibly making an offer on the 225 this week. Had someone take a look at it and make up a list. We shall see what happens. Current price is at 8200, hoping to get close to 7500

thanks, trying to be patient. It does seem that as the weeks go on I do find a few more, hopefully "the right one" will pop up soon
