i have an 01 225 roadster with manual top... it's not as bad as you would think... but you can't let a girl put it back on from inside the car, it takes a little more power for the first few inches, especially from insidethe car,then it just slides through...

 

I have a 2001 TT Roadster with manual top. The original spec sheet for the vehicle shows: Power cloth top with heated glass rear window. On the detail pricing list is stated: Manual Top Replaces Power Top -$800.00. I bet a lot of them were sold this way. Personally, the manual top is fine. If the boot is on, it takes time to put up either one cause the boot removal is the toughest deal to do.

 

Thanks to those with the 225 roadster with the manual top for clarifying. I'd rather have the manual top anyways, less complicated things to repair later [8D]For service, it already has had the tb service done, and they did everything the tb touches basically when they replaced it. cars got 86k miles on it and comes with a seperate set of mounted snows, they are asking just over 11k, which def sounds fair to me, its a private party sale.I am going to have a presale inspection done this week b4 I go drive it because its a few hours away. Since the TB is done,brakes have been flushed,etc, I am mainly concerned with having them do a pressure test, and scope out the suspension, rotors/pads, and clutch. Hopefully by next weekend this time I'll own it.

 

To each his own but its so nice with the auto-top to drive around with rain clouds in the area and be able to flip it up with the switch at a red light when needed at the last second if it starts to raininstead of pulling over to do it. Done this several times and can't imagine have a manual top after this.

Its a cool feature, no doubt, very supah fly. It is not a deciding option for me though, and I wouldnt even be looking at this car normally but the price is good and the dude is leaving the country in a week. Its in presale inspection as we wpeak, def looking forward to hearing the verdict. Hopefully the pressure check and all else comes out smooth.
