*my lovely 2000 tt won't start~
~hello all... (my first time) my 2000tt has the check engine light on...& cranks but won't start and all the indicators on the dash are going nuts! (must be a computer thing~)Always ran great, 'til I had the battery replaced about a week ago. Read on the forum about turning the key on for 3-5 minutes... it worked!! But- the check engine light is still on(can I turn it off?), and now and then it won't turn over at first. Now, it's beeping and won't start with the ecu light on. I know it's probably a computer communication issue, so are there any more computer tricks to try?? I love you guys~

first, you can clear the ecu light by unplugging your battery.
but if the ecu light keeps reapearing then there is something wrong, obviously. I hope you can diagnose the lights and sperratic starting. You should also try to see if you have the right battery, or a working one.

*my lovely tt needs a new 'key'~
~thank you... I took it to the euro mechanic, (it's now illegal for auto stores to read your codes in California)and they 'cleared all DTC's' and recommend replacement of ignition key first, and possibly the injection power relay. Ran great, started fine several times that day, next day it did the 'no starting thing' again... I turned the key on for 3 minutes, and it's been starting fine for a couple days now. Does this sound right, and is the Dealer the only place to order a key?~

Dealer is the only place to get a key. Mine was $130.
Try chaning the battery inside the key. It may be a security system thing. And also unlock the doors with the key a few times (not using the keyless entry), it re-programs/syncs the key to the car.
