I have a 2008 4.2 S line with 295/35/21 Dunlop Sport Maxx that I need to replace at 15,500 miles. They started getting very noisy at 9000 miles. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have looked at Tire Rack and it looks like most of the tires got mixed reviews.

 

Dunlops are inherently noisey at 15K and after. As the tread gets lower, air is trapped and thus the noise. They are safe, but annoying. After my 3rd set, I moved to Mitchelin ... hard to find, and about 500 more a set. They ride better, are quieter and (waiting to see) shouldn't have the noise issue -- according to my tire dealer.

 

I just put a set of continental extreme contact dws on my tt from tirerack. very quiet so far and the tirerack ratings indicate they are great in all categories.
