interval

Good question. I know audi will say lifetime fill as usual. If the A8 is anything to go by 50K miles (80k km) it will look like chocolate milk, the filter will be blocked and the little magnets will be covered in iron filings but after the warranty is up what do they care. Unless someone replies otherwise I would say change it! Sump pan off and filter change is a must.
Hope to read other replies.

You are correct, Audi does not specify a change interval for the Tiptronic. For the S-Tronic and DSG it's 55,000 miles however.
If you do change it, you'll only get part of the fluid out obviously. The torque converter will still be full and it holds a good portion of the total fluid. Still, changing the rest of it and filter will not hurt anything. You may want to change the transfer case fluid at the same time as well.
For reference, the trans holds 9.0L (new fill) of G 055 025 A2 fluid and the t-case is 0.9L of G 052 162 A2 fluid.

Hi ,
I had an issue with my diff and atf apparently my 2008 model was filled with the incorrect fluid at manufacture Audi took my vehicle in and initially thought it was a worn rear wheel bearing ?? eventually they changed both the diff and atf fluid and the vehicle noise was resolved !!! this appeared at 11K ....... drop the fluid and replace it if outside your warranty period or visit Audi and explain the situation with incorrect fluids at manufacture - for the sake of approx. £120.00 sterling I would change it as the gearbox for one of these will run you at approx. £7K.
Good luck,
Keith. Q7 S-Line 3.0 TDi Quattro.
