Default ESP & ABS warning lights

I just had my ESP & ABS warning lights illuminate on my 2007 Q7 this morning on my way to work. The car was braking fine so I turned off the ignition & started it again. This time they were illuminated as soon as I started the vehicle. Any insights as to what might be happening? Has anyone else experienced this? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated prior to taking the car in for service.

Go get your codes read...could be failure in the elec module on your ABS hydraulic unit. Can be repaired (not at dealer) without replacing the entire unit.

If they've EVER been on, there's a reason and a fault code is stored.

It was the ABS sensor on the left rear wheel that was damaged by the wheel bearing that came out.

Is it your Bosch ABS control module they are referring to? If so, you can have yours rebuilt for a fraction of that cost; I had mine rebuilt a couple years ago and works fine.

Do you have a recommendation on someone doing this? I have a 2007 Q7 that I need an ABS module (rebuilt) for. Thank you!

From what I have read, you can still drive the vehicle, however some components will not function but driveable. Your gauges (i.e. tach, Speedo, Fuel) may not work, Air Suspension dampering, steering may be stiff, brakes stiff etc.

If you get your original rebuilt, it will not have to be programmed by dealer; however, if you opt to purchase a different ABS module it will have to be programmed by the dealer for your specific vehicle.

I hope this helps, this was my experience when I replaced mine.
