Marker Light and Wiper Blades $120!!!
So I had a side marker light indcated as out on my 20 month old Q5... wiper blades were also in need of changing.... Open Road in Vancouver hit me $30 to change the $2 bulb and $70 for 2 wiper blades... plus tax. They could not even figure out initially how to access the left rear bulb until they found a screw they missed initially... it was stripped of course. Worst of it is... the $3 screw should be warranty but the chick in charge of warranty told the tech in my hearing range it must be my fault ... I must have stripped it myself... so no warranty.
No big deal about the $3 screw... but why insult me? The experience up to then was pretty good.... tech was a good guy... still won't be going back there and after 3 Audi's and crappy service on each one at the local dealer doubt there will be a 4th... too bad as I love the brand.
Are there any good dealers out there or is this pretty standard across brand? If anyone has a suggestion here in Vancouver would appreciate the advice.
Follow Up on the above
I had a call from both the service manager and the service writer that originally set up my appointment and both apologized for the warranty managers insinuation that I must have damaged the screw so no warranty would be allowed... they have mde me feel more comfortable that this dealer does listen and offered to make the inconvenience up to me....seems to be an appropriate response and will give them another shot. Might be a decent dealer after all.
