2013 Q5 Trailer Hitch is NOT an option
For kicks I looked at a new '13 and tried to configure one online. All was good until I couldn't find the factory trailer hitch. I have an aftermarket hitch on my '11 Q5 but it hangs too low. I wanted to get a factory one on it and be done with it. It wasn't there. I emailed customer care and they responded it was no longer an option.
Anybody got a good one on a '13 and did it wire up OK?
Thanks!

I had the dealer install a factory hitch and wiring on my '13 Q5. In order to install the hitch with a wiring harness they had to cut a good sized piece out of the bumper cover. My Q is black and you can hardly notice its been cut. Actually the cut is below the curve so you wouldnt notice it unless you were kneeling behind the vehicle.
The deal is that the install cost alone is between $600 and $800 at the dealer whereas the port installed hitch is just the cost of the hitch itself. The hitch is around $800. I negotiated to have htem install the hitch at no charge as part of my purchase.
As for the wiring, I havent tested it yet. I picked up my Q last monday just before the Hurricane came through here. I am hooking up to a trailer today for the first time so I will know later on if the wiring is good.
