crankshaft speed sensor code P0321????
Hi everyone...I have a 98 A8 in great condition EXCEPT that out of nowhere it died on me as I was driving on the highway (I guess that doesn't sound like great condition)
According to the code P0321, I need a crankshaft speed sensor...does anyone know about this???

Yeah its a magnetic pick up sensor that reads the teeth on the crank flex plate, the signal is sent to the ECM so the ECM knows when to fire the spark plugs and fuel injectors. If the signal gets interupted the engine wouldn't run. You need to replace that.

I've been having this problem lately.. EPC and CEL accompanied by random stalling, especially while the car is resting like at a stoplight. It's intermittent, happening usually once a day accompanied by limp mode. The codes i got are:
P0321
Ignition/Dist
Engine speed input
CKT Range/Perf
P0322
Ignition/Dist
Engine speed input
No Signal
sounds like a bad crank sensor?? -- 1.8t stock

Cranshaft Position Sensor
Hi Everyone,
I also have the P0321 code on my 1999 A8. I didn't have any issues with starting the car, or stalling, however while driving at constant speeds I could see the RPMs fluctuate slightly. Then the check engine light came on and thats when I had the codes checked. In addition to the P0321 I have a P0307(cylinder 7 misfire). Could the two be related? I haven't replaced the sensor yet, i'm trying to confirm that it will solve the problem.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
