A8 Air conditioning problem, help me!
I have a 2004 A8, and when I put my AC on, a couple things happen.
#1 I am getting a water bubbling noise in my dash, and it drips water onto the floor on either side of the car under the dash.
#2, I get a strong cold stream out of the passenger side middle vent, but less force and less cold out of the other 3 vents in the dash.
Any idea on what is going on?
any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Jason

First you MUST clean out your AC drains in the car...they ALL clog eventually:

Should be similar to D2 instructions...not sure.
Do that first...you definitely have clogged drains now. Then see how things work. The CC system adjusts where and how much comes out of various vents, by checking multiple sensors in the vents and other places, including a sun sensor on the dash. If the air in the car feels "balanced", it is probably doing it's job correctly.

Thank you, I am going to try that now.
The car definately does NOT feel balanced, it comes out strong on the passenger middle vent, but as you go to the driver left, hardly anything comes out.... and its warmer..
I'll report back if anything changes once I clean the drains.
thanks again for your help

Ok, so that part is solved...
However, I have NO Ac whatsoever now, its just hot air, as its 90 degrees today. I don't think this is a new development however, I think it wasn't working properly all along.
I evacuated the system, and drew out all of the freon gas.
Then trying to recharge, it only took one half of a can, and you can tell the compressor is not pumping, because it won't take anymore. Is there anyway to jump the compressor to get it pumping? or what is the deal?
any ideas?
thanks

A8 No A/C
The A/C compressor is probably not kicking on for one of a few reasons:
1. A/C Compressor Clutch or control circuit is faulty.
2. A/C Pressure Switch is faulty.
3. A/C is undercharged with R134a or No charge.
Good place to start is to Auto-Scan the vehicle with VCDS.
