Default same problem here

I have a 01 A8L that is doing the same thing to me, only nothing was being worked on at the time. Went to the movies, came out and it only turns over. I hope someone can help us out.

Your best bet would be to take it to the dealer, i have already tried to help you millenia and you don't have the tools or the know how to diagnose audi electrical systems. Audi and porshe have the most complicated electrical systems known to man on an automobile, especially on an A8.

don't go right out and purchase an ECU without having your car diagnosed by the dealer or an independent audi tech first. seems kind of like a waste of money when it could be something much much smaller. my car did the same thing so i took it to my audi tech and he diagnosed, identified the multiple problems i had, and fixed them all one by one. then he re-checked and sent me on my marry way.

it's up to you, but seems worth the $100-130 deposit for a diagnosis since you're gonna be paying them for something to be done regardless... atleast then your diagnosis payment is going towards your final fee.
