A7, why so slow????

The A7 seems decent on accel, to me anyways. The car companies, even high end ones, still have to compromise between fuel economy, power, driveability, emissions, and the predicted type of customer that is going to buy a given model. If only Audi could build them faster. The dealer I work for (tech) has sold every one they can get so far and have customers on a waiting list. That said, I wish they were V-8. No matter what the power output, a V-8 has that 'sound" to it!

It seems fast is never fast enough. Off the floor the A7 clocks in 0-60 in 5.4 seconds! It is no slouch but if you really want the extra speed, Stasis has a exhaust kit available but no software upgrade yet. I'll wait until its ready before I upgrade.

well regarding the 310hp at the crank, my car is currently at the tuner and they dyno'd tested it stock and it got 275hp at the wheel (for the ones who don't know the difference, engines are rated outside of the car, the real horsepower is less after the drivetrain loss, front Wheel Drive cars have drivetrain loss but less than rear wheel cars, but all wheel drive cars have more loss than real wheel drive, also automatic transmissions have more than manual, the 15% drivetrain loss is more like an average, in this case the A7 is all wheel drive and automatic, the tuner said the drivetrain loss is more like 25-28%, so if the car had 275awhp, then that is 275/0.72 or 275/0.75 (whatever the loss is) that means the A7 is really about 367 to 382hp from factory (now it makes sense those 5.4 seconds 0-60mph in a car weighing that much), Audi is replacing the A8 engine with the same 3.0 supercharged engine, it is as fast as the 4.2 v8 but with less fuel consumption, now the good news is the supercharged v6 is so easy to improve due to the supercharger (not the same with the normal aspirated engine) after the tune at 91 octane fuel my car got 350awhp, so now my car has about 466-486hp, for the people who think these numbers are way too high (I thought the same) well if before the tune had 275awhp and we believe the Audi's numbers of 310hp, then there is a 12% loss, even with these 12% powertrain loss (research it and you will see 12% seems very very low for a quattro tiptronic) the horsepower will be 350/0.88 so 398hp is the number you get at least with a tune. I am getting my car delivered next week, let's see how it drives, by the way these numbers were with 91 octane map, the tuner is installing a switcher to use 100 octane too, I am looking forward to get the last numbers under 100 octane and there is gas station that sells 100 octane fuel here, twice as much in price but worth it for a day of fun.
