Default A7 Braking Power - Less than Ideal

Is anyone else less than pleased with the braking power of their A7. Seems like I have to press the brake pedal down about 40-50% before the brakes begin to engage, and then very firmly to stop when traveling at moderate speeds. I brought it in to my dealer who bled the brakes, but that didn't help. I have nearly 4,000 miles on the car now, so I am well past the break-in period. Should I swap out the pads? Thoughts? Thanks.

I could be very wrong, but I would have the dealer look into the mechanical linkage. I assume that once the brakes engage, the car stops the way it should.

I spoke to my dealer today and he thinks the problem could exist in the pump. There might be a leak there. Have your dealer look into that possibity.

Thanks for mentioning that 4seater - the dealer suggested it was me.

Have been seeking other A7 owners in Toronto and came across this forum to compare notes.

Just an idea. Go ask a salesman to road test another A7 & compare it to yours.

Obviously a brake fault. Audi pride themselves on good brakes and no less so on the A7.
I have new model and no issues and if it did I would be first on to them!
It is a safety issue and should be stressed as such!

The only way to be sure is to drive another A7. My brake are just great at any speed, so it may be that you are used to driving a different car that brakes differently. In any event let us know how you get on

I just hit 1,000 miles on my A7 today and I'm having the same issue as you. The brakes on the A7 just suck. It also feels like the more I drive it the worse it gets. My girlfriend was saying it's because I'm so used to more sensitive brakes (eg. PCCB on my GT3) but I don't agree. Before I bought the A7 I was in a Panamera 4S (non-PCCB) and the brakes were awesome. I even had a set of 22" wheels on it and it wasn't an issue. I think Audi really needs to correct this flaw. It's pretty dangerous if you ask me.

I am having the same issues with the brakes now, mileage is at 25,000 Km now, am sending it in to the workshop first thing Monday morning and will update you guys..

Previously, the brakes were good enough, not as good as a Porsche's but definitelt sufficient for the A7, only began to notice the difference when I was braking at moderate speeds (80 to 100km/h) and the car didnt stop like before...

Sigh great looking car, but no substance underneath it..

Sorry to hear about your braking problems. I have 8500 miles on my A7 and the braking power is better than new. Hope it gets repaired to your satisfaction.
