Short version of whole story. Bought car used from a Chevy dealer with 50,000 miles on it. Car is 2003 with all service records. Owner of dealership took car off of family friend who wanted to sell it. We took car home and it was dead two days later. Took to independent to look at. Kept a week, no clue. We called Chevy dealer. They were awesome, asked us to take to Audi dealer and they would share costs to fix. Not their intent to sell us dud car. Audi dealer returned to us as fixed three weeks later, and car dies after 48 hours. Audi dealer takes it back, works on it all summer, (we have loaner) and gives up. They seriously kept if for three months. Can't find parasitic drain. Even had the master tech guy come in and look at. And they also trash the car, putting oil all over the leather, and they scraped tons of paint off the console and radio area. Audi dealer sucked. Chevy dealer kept it for a week to goof with it. thought they figured it out and sent it back to us. That night, we saw the hazard light, red triangle on dash glowing, and knew that was a bad sign. But we also knew that we had stopped somewhere and the light was off. Was it a/c, top up or down, windows, what had we done that made light turn off? Figured out it was windows down. Posted to the group. After suggestions discovered it was driver's side rear window only. Car is pristine except for water damage on driver's side rear seat. coincidence? I don't think so. Family friend traded car in knowing that rear driver's side window had to be cracked for car to run. So that is where we are at. Thank you so much to the group.
