Hi SavageAJC,

Sorry to hear about your car troubles, but since you don't have any "CEL" now I would simply drive and enjoy the car. If you have any that reoccur, there are many parts stores like Autozone and Advance that will connect and OBDII to the diagnostic port free of charge to recover the code so that you can more easily diagnose then remedy the problem.
As for the use of Seafoam, I don't think that this caused your problem, I've used the product for years in several of my cars by adding it to the fuel tank with every oil change and never had any issues. You said that you've had a previous intermittent "CEL". Apparently there is still some sensor or other minor issue causing that. If you have have any future "CEL" with any code relating to an O2 sensor, I would simply replace the sensor. Most car makers recommend replacing O2 sensors at intervals from 40K to 60K miles, and believe it or not they do actually wear out, go bad and have to be replaced.
Good Luck, Hopefully the issue is resolved

Agreed.. I wasn't saying Seafoam was bad, but if he's using it with an already weak O2 hen the crud the Seafoam dislodges will most likely cause it to throw a code.

The finance guy is a jerk!
Next time tell him that if the Audi is a such a big P.O.S. you will need to buy a BMW next time and see what he says! I'd bet he changes his tune!

I've used seafoam on ALL of my cars. Never have had an issue. But there could always be a first time, I guess.

When you poured it into your vacuum line, did you let it sit with engine off, then let it idle for 15 mins?

When you poured it into your tank, how much of the white can did you put in (I've put an entire can in to a full take of gas) how much gas was in the tank?
