i would think it would since my a6 is hitting real hard when i put it in reverse, not a friendly sound either. so after awhile i would think it will take its toll. im so upset something so simple can make something big go wrong..ugh

The best $270 I've spent! Once i had all the software installed and the cable connected i ran the scan and came up with a few errors around the car and a whole pile for the trans(see below) Well, I re-set all the codes for the trans and re-scanned, no problems. Test drove with again no issues... What I think happened was that when I pulled the fuse for the trans control(and all gear selector switches and locks) the computer saw all these things failing and immediately switched the trans into safe or "limp" mode. Summary: Problem solved, GET A VAG COM! haha...

^^^ Well the intermittent codes are good, but the brake light switch in your car is toast, and that can also cause transmission issues....like limp mode so you need to change that.
The A/C fault is intermittent as well, so ignore it.

Yep. And a tranny will not reset on its own...
