It seems that alot of you are saying that the 2.7t stops at around 130 stock. I thought that too, until christmas day 08. I pushed mine to about +140. i was so surprised that it passed the 130 mark and it kept going! I will admit the wind noise it really bad. I have a little bit of a shaking problem at around 60 mph and over but when i pushed it, it still handled very well. Maybe its the wheel bearing? idk any suggestions?

2001 Audi A6 2.7t STOCK. APR Chip soon.

Christmas Day 08......sure you weren't driving your deloreon.....lol

But seriuosly I have only had my A6 for a month now and have only pushed it to 115. Still too scared to push it hard for fear of breaking something. I do love the acceleration from 60-115 just crusing the whole time in 6th gear.

135 against an m5 on I-476 in PA if your around philly area this road is fun but they are putting up cameras everywhere(i was $h*ting my pants weaving in and out of cars around curves)

I wasnt gonna let some guido chump whose daddy bought him his car out drive me ... i think with the mods I have he could have still taken me on a straight away but this cat clearly didnt know how to drive that car (I also had 2 other ppl 2 snoboards a set of skis boots etc and my 150lb subwoofer in the trunk!)

Wow Gigi, 150 , but where were you able to do it, roads around here are way to rough to push much more than 100 let alone 150. The Strech I got to 130 was the smoothest strech of road on I-70, but man was the road bumpy.
on the way back from a late ride in the blue ridge parkway, had to hit a portion of I 85, 4 lanes of smooth Hwy though up hill a bit in most section, it was a late sunday night with no one on the road pretty much... Car kept pciking up speed and squating down, felt real smooth and safe ride....
I usually don't speed like that but the condition were as good as they get from a safety stabd point so I wanted to see what the car had. Not much of top sped guy, more acceleration and handling.

joetm if you like the "blue route" you'll have to try the I-495 run into Delaware...right past the Claymont (Tri-state Liquor exit..where I-95 south splits) you have miles and miles to open it up, especially late night.

One night we had my 06 M5, my buddies '94 Lotus Esprit S4 (modded) and our other friend's Acura NSX (moded). We made several runs, late night of course, with no problems from the statees.

For real, check out the I-495 run, it's fun. Becareful though! Delaware has Statees. Maybe I'll see you around sometime.

You guys think 125-130 is fast in a NICE A6 sedan. Try it in a 97 3/4 ton Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel pushing 550hp to the wheels. That will scare the poop out of you.

BTW, I have done it a few time in my truck.

I have a 2000 2.7 that is stock and I got it to 138 before I had to let off, but I was going down a slight incline on the highway.

I've taken my 99' 2.8 A6 up to 120 a few times. I have shi**y tires as well so I backed it down. Hell of a ride though. Very smoothb acceleration, wind nosie is normal due top the aerodynamics of the car it basically cuts through the air.

131.44MPH=212kmph. is what my car limits at and sometimes I can get there without hitting 5th gear. my car is stock other then the vagcom 032 tranny change. Currently just looking for a way to remove the top speed limiter to see how fast it goes stock.
