RE: Top Speed of the 2.7t
i'm curiously waiting for some of the 4.2 guys to chime in and say something. i know i don't have a 2.7t, but i'm also curious how far some of the 4.2 owners have had theirs. i've done 110mph, but that was on BAD tires, so i wasn't willing to push my luck. i might test it a little more when i get some better rubber on her.

Stock it cuts off at 130, but after mods including chip, i was able to go at 150 ish, not top speed though.... car was stable, squated down and hugging hwy curves.. the nosie was bad though....
I had my Focus SVT at 140 and it was quieter....

The SVT was really engineered and built with many european traits to it in its suspension set up and engine tuned by Cosworth. A real nice to be honest with you, drove amazing, out handled many expensive sport cars, just wished it had another 75HP, chassis could definitely handle it,
At 140 the car was straight, smooth, planted... nothing to be scared about and the recaro seat were awesome!

I had my old RX7 at 145+ and my Yamaha R6 at 156, but the fastest the A6 has been is probably 95 or so. I just haven't been in the right situation or had the proper desire to push it any further than that yet. Maybe it is my advanced age or something.

RE: Top Speed of the 2.7t
I haven't had the car long enough to find the right situation to push it so my top speed is only around 95. I have had a similar problem with wind noise at the top of the driver and passenger doors. If I hit 70 there is a very noticable noise. I did notice that is somewhat quieter when the heater isn't running. Which makes perfect sense since it would create a pressure difference and push the doors out. I took a look at the seals and they seemed fine. I wonder if there is a way to tighten the latch to make it close a little more, or put on bigger seals or something... Has anyone tried to do anything that did or didn't work about the wind noise?
I will be takin a road trip to vegas soon so this problem could get extremely annoying! I will get back to you with stock 2.7t top speed after that...

Mine didnt cut off at 130 and it is stock. I hit 135 passing a bmw 5 series. He thought he could race me. That was around a slight turn too on interstate 64. I heard stock u could run 155 before shut off. I hit 6 gear around 120. I love driving fast.
