tires?

RE: tires?
Depends on your driving preferences and where you live. I've had excellent luck on other cars with Dunlop SP9000s and Continental ContiSport Contact tires - both of them were great in dry driving, and almost as good in the wet (and that was on a 438whp rear-drive 300ZX), with surprisingly good wear. The best-handling tires I ever had were Pirelli PZero Rosso tires (245-40-18 front, 285-30-18 rear, on the Z), but only in the dry, and not for long - the treadwear was awful, and they were scary in the rain. I'd recommend the Dunlops or ContiSports to anyone though. I have Michelin Pilot Alpin M+S-rated 17s on my A4, and they've been really good too - they hold the road nicely (certainly easily for the OEM suspension and capabilities of my A4), and they don't suffer a bit in crappy weather.

RE: tires?
The SP9000 has big-time (for a performance tire) rain channels in it, and the outer and inner tread siping moves water very well. Also, the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 tires (which I think have been redesigned and replaced) were really good for wet traction as well. Tirerack.com has good reviews from consumers right on their site, so you can get real-world feedback from those who have bought any tires from them.

If you don't need an all-season tire, and you want a season dedicated tire that is great inwet conditions look no further than Goodyear's Eagle F1 GS-D3. Both Tirerack and Car & Driver have named it their#1 choice forwet conditions. It is also rated for 186 mph in case you really want to get on it on the open roads of NorthTexas.

i actually struck a deal with someone i know, he needed new tires and i wanted his rims so we traded he gave me his rs6 rims with bald tires and i gave him my a6 rims with new tires. If you want to buy the rs6 rims new go to oempl.us and they are pretty pricey
