Tiptronics stop working?
took 2 hours to drive from long island to New Patlz today...(road was great )
and tip was working while I was on thruway, but now it's not engaging to the shift.....
and nothing happens....
is that switch or something else?
trans working normally since I drove again to store etc.
just that when I shift the *** to the right no change in gauge, go up or down gear just flashes the D....
Help!

RE: Tiptronics stop working?
Jeff may have hit on it with the magnet theory. I've got the same problem, though haven't gotten it resolved just yet. Initial diagnosis showed a short in the trans control module, but changing that out made no difference. We removed the cover for the shifter and found that the magnets had indeedescaped and so are awaiting a "new" magnet layer for that mechanism.

I had chance to pull the stuff out just now. is there another magnet on the side besides on the top of the cover?
looks like that's what's missing on mine(because that's looks like broke)
what are the parts # for these things?

RE: Tiptronics stop working?
called up the dealer, they said there are few versions of it, so I checked he has the one (mine was 2 parts instead of one single unit) so checked and I did see that there is side magnet that is missing on mine.
so bought that and replaced it.... 67bucks for part.
everything was easy through the link I found, and puttnig it back wasn't hard either.
