Timing belt replacement--> burning oil smell --> noxious exhaust smell
#2
When it's warmed up enough to give you heat, lift the hood and check to see that the rubber gasket is in place across the rear of the engine compartment that the hood seals against. Check too to see that there are no kind of plugs/caps out of their holes in the firewall.
No fumes from the engine compartment should reach your heater air intake. There shouldn't BE any fumes from the engine, unless you have an exhaust leak or oil leak that is hitting a hot surface.
While you're there, look to see if you can find the source of the smoke. Hard to do with these cars, everything's shrouded in plastic.
Hey, if they wrote 1 year, you GOT 1 year. I'm sure you have had something break 1 day after the warranty expired, you are SOL. You're a month under, you got a month to go in which they are liable.
Cheers,
George
