Timing belt price quote

RE: Timing belt price quote
That sounds good to me, lol. I asked that question too a little bit ago. My dealership and another mechanic told me timing belts break in audi's at 40K miles. I'm at 90K and have had no problem, but I know I really need to get it done soon. Both the dealership and the other place told me it will cost about 1600. Another guy on here told me it should be between 800 to 1000, so I dunno. I'd rather pay your price though than mine, are you anywhere near south caronlina????

No, I'm in central Ohio, the dealership is Byer's. I purchased the car from the original owner who kept this car in perfect condition. I just went to Byer's to get the service history, and he had EVERY thing done. The timing belt was checked at about 50k and all was well.
I am going to an independent garage that comes recommended to see what they have to say.

A dealership quoted my about $1100, just to replace the timing belt alone. Took it to an independent mechanic garage, that specializes in VW's and Audi's, and had the Timing Belt, TBelt tensioner, rollers, water pump, thermostat, front rollers, serpentine belt all done for $907.xx, which was an awesome deal. I live in Santa Fe, and there are only a couple of places that work on Audi's here, and they quoted 795 to 950, just to replace a timing belt, none of the other stuff. Finally took it to a place in Albuquerque, NM, called Foreign Aide and had the repairs done @ approx. 87000 miles.
