Default TC lock-up sensor

I'm wondering if anybody has handled the TC sensor?

-Where is the TC sensor located (lock up sensor) on '03 A6 2.7T?
-What are chances for the sensor to fail?
-What does it involve to get it replaced?

After I've done some readings, I'm sure there is no single "TC lock-up sensor".
TCM gets inputs from various sensors and decides the lock-up (on-off) operation.

I'm wondering if there is a way to expand the expected time (limits of operation) coded in TCM for engaging and mostly disangaging the lock-up?

It seems to me that TCM is not taking in consideration the aging components and fluids and expects behavior that can not be delivered.

Having codes 17125 - P041 could be solved if TCM handles longer disengaging times?

Or perhaps the solenoid that controls the piston for the clutch is to be replaced?

Any schematics on the solenoid - is it a part of the valve body?
