Default Stripped bolts on Intake Manifold cover

I'm repairing an auxillary waterpump and I have 2 bolts that are wallowed out and I can't remove them. They are the ones with 5mm allen heads. Has anyone had this problem and if so, how did you remove the bolts? Thanks in advance for any info. I appreciate it.

get a bolt out kit then replace it. I'm going to have to do the same thing with a bolt on my throttle body.

Use a drill. Drill out the middle of the allen bolt. Use a drill bit slightly larger then the shank of the bolt. Once the head of the bolt is off, remove the intake, then use a stud extractor or a set of vice grips to remove the rest of the bolt. Replace with a new bolt.

Thanks Bob and Huffman. I did use a drill and it came out easy. I appreciate the advice.

Let me know where you sourced a replacement bolt. Having one stripped one on the throttle body it would be nice to know where to find a replacement if I ever pull the intake off.

Hey J, I found them on the ECS tuning parts website. The are 47 cents each on there. I think the local audi dealer sells them for $2 each. The intake had been off 3 times before I removed it this last time and they had stripped half the bolts. I decided to replace all of them since I had them out. Good luck.
