Stop the stink!!!
So I bought the update vented oil cap from ECS for $35. My valve covers or cam seals have been leaking for a while, smoke will come out of the fender, turn the heat on and you smell roasted oil, you get the idea, it was pretty bad. I put this new cap on and thought Id see how it works. Well from my exp., the best way to push oil out is to run it hard, so after about 25 mins of stop and go traffic, hit a open free way and smashed the throttle wide open. In tip mode, 6800 through 2nd, 3rd and about 5.75k in 4th, dont remember the speed but it was well over 100, about 10min later I was home, in the garage, hood open, no oil smells, the heat didnt bring in smells either!! The oil temp was over 225, it got run hard, and didnt smell, Im impressed, and for $35, alot cheaper than doing the real job. I know its only a "bandage" on the problem, as the leak gets worse, it wont matter but at least for now, it makes me happy.

You should also clean out your intake with seafoam, and replace your PCV valve. A plugged up PCV valve adds crankcase pressure and potentially more oil leaks/consumption.
Although, running a vented oil cap isn't exactly good for the engine. If you did that to an FSI engine it would hardly run, even have a heavy misfire. I would get the oil leak fixed and clean out the PCV system then put your stock oil cap back on.
Since you don't have a 2.7T, you may just wear out the O2 sensors faster.

lol, 02 sensors are already going. I never liked the idea of seafoam, and my dad doesnt trust it either, hates the idea of runnung it through the cats. As for the pcv valve, at somepoint, il replace that too. All I know, is that for now, Im happy. Why is the vented so bad for the engine.
