stalling when stopping
hey everyone, new to the forum! as my official first post, i would like to ask how specific should i be with the search function? i tried a couple times, but couldn't be any more specific. anyways, i have a 99 a6 auto v6 quattro that has a problem with stalling when slowing down to a stop. it doesn't happen all the time, and will sometimes start right back up, but sometimes take a few tries to get going again. it has 104k miles on it and has had an oil change and tune up since the problem started, but with no joy. anyone else had anything similar? any ideas? thanks

RE: stalling when stopping
Classic carbon build up issue. You need to clean off the carbon on the throttle valve and intake valves. This can be done by spraying carb cleaner into the intake while the engine is running, have someone floor the engine while you do this. It won't damage anything, it may back fire on you though.
