??? Simonizing ???

LOL -- The word "Simonizing" is OLD and refers to having a vehicle cleaned and polished (buffed and waxed) with Simonize products. Today people generally call it detailing a vehicle and there are numerous products that can be used. Some are better than the old Simonize products and some are worse.
My son did automotive detailing and he used Zymol at close to $100 a can for the high end vehicles like ferraris etc., Meguires for the mid range stuff, and over the counter waxes products like Simonize for the others.
Generally $100 for a quicky detail job is about right.. Don't expect miracles or the wax to last more than a few months- if your lucky.

Are you referring to a polishing of the car using a "cutter" wax before using a liquid wax? A cutter is a paste thats designed to cutt into the clear coat to remove scratches, so if thats what you're talking about yes it works great. I did it to my S4 when i bought it to remove swirl marks on the hood and trunk lid.

cutter wax? -- Like fine, medium or course polishing compound? Get too agressive and you'll remove the clear coat and even paint. Do it too often and you'll have a silver-metalic vehicle. LOL
There are also cleaning compounds that are like very fine polishing compounds and are used just before the final wax job.
Then there are special products to remove swirl marks left from buffing wheels and a zillion other special products of which I have numerous left over in the cabinet in my garage.
