seafoam treatment 2000 A6 2.7T
hey guys, i got an audi A6 From 2000 with 78000 miles on it and i wanted to know some informations about that magical seafoam.
The thing is i can't find a thing about that engine and where is the vacuum lines. So i just want to make sure that i am not gonna mess up the car.
here is a picture that i took. i circled in red what i thing is the line and where i should put the seafom in right? so let me know if it ok? thank you guys.
And exept the oil change and oil filter to change will i have to do anything else?

After ripping mine apart with 125K. I didn't see a wild amount of carbon in the heads and the carbon I did see seafoam wasn't going to help clear out. It was all inside the tubes of the secondary exhaust system. However I did sea foam it before hand and I did water as well.
To be honest if you don't know where your vac lines are maybe you shouldn't sea foam it. But that's up to you.
Your looking for a vac line that leads into the intake manifold or plenum.
Is the car running like crap or are you just trying to take good care of it?

dont know if that line will work but i used the line off the fuel regulator, should be a woven hose that pulls right off and when the car is on it will suck in air, the fuel regulator is under the right side engine cover, silver in color cylinder shaped, the hose that comes out is facing the coolant resevoir side of the regulator

You basically want the line closest to the manifold. All vac lines lead to the same place but I don't know what the sea foam would do to the check vac valves etc... just take off the covers and run your fingers back to find the end, then hook in a T with and a longer line so you can work like a gentleman and avoid spilling seafoam all over the place.

Most people will disagree with this --But I'll say it anyway.
Sea Foam = Reported to be a magic elixer that fixes almost everything. An inexpensive way to cover up poor maintenance. A bit like snake oil and MMO. Sometimes works and sometimes screws things up.
Andy Granatelli of STP fame would love the stuff. Good for fogging the neighborhood in the middle of mosquito season thus it is best to warn the neighbors before using it so they don't call the fire department.
