Default Removing transmission

When removing transmission , do i have to drain fluid?
2000 a6 2.7t
auto tranny

you just need to drain the blinker fluid

...and don't forget about the brake light fluid, too!

Seriously, though....you'll have to disconnect the transmission cooler lines anyway, so pre-draining as much as you can out of the system isn't a bad idea. Besides, you'll have the car up in the air anyway....draining it right then and there is cake.

Hey guys be serious --The poor guy wants to know if he should drain a tranny--

I never met a true transvite so I can't help with an answer to that question.
