Radiator Replacement 1997 A6 Quattro
#11
I am in the process of pulling my radiator to get it flushed after getting clogged when the GF put glycol in it instead of the G12. I am having trouble finding all the bolts to remove the front bumper. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! I found this: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...t=front+bumper

It would help if you included the year of your car but if its a C5 then there arent really alot of bolts to remove. remove the front tires and remove the bolts from the front of the inner wheel wells pull the wheel wells back so you can get in to remove the three 10mm nuts on each side. pull out on the bumper where it meets the front wheel well to unclip the bumper from the fender. Remove the two outside grills in the front of the bumper the ones with the foglights in them just give them a tug they will pop out. Inside of the hole where the grill is going straight up through the bumper support is a bolt with a t45 torx head remove this bolt on each side and the bumper should pull out you will then need to unhook the horn and foglight wires and the hose for the headlight washers being carefull not to break the clip on this.

Now on to the next challenge, all this was to flush the cooling system after she added the green coolant. I made the mistake of trying to start it with the hose attached to the inlet to flush the system. I forgot about the tranny cooler lines and shot a quuart or so all over the garage before shutting it off. Now I get to read up on tranny fluid filling and changing. This is not a fun project. Well if you didnt like the radiator job then you are really not going to like the tranny! whatever you do follow the directions in the bently to the letter on this one as these trans are very fussy and having the correct level is of utmost importance!

I found this thread, https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=125517 plus I have the bentley instructions so I hope it doesn't give me too much trouble. Off to the garage now. Wish me luck.
