Default Post-shop troubles - noise, hard shifting, lights...

Hey ya'll -

I've got a 2001 A6 2.7T w/ 216,000 miles on it. I took it to the shop last week to have a timing belt job done (w/ water pump, thermostat, etc.) and when I got it back, things were all kinds of jacked up.

Now, the car has the following symptoms:

- Wants to stall when the gas is pressed, if the MAF sensor is plugged in. I replaced the MAF sensor, makes no difference. With the MAF unplugged, the car is able to be driven, but with the rest of the following symptoms.
- When it goes to stall, the ABS/ESP Traction lights come on and stay on.
- It has the dentist drill whine thing happening (I know this is generally a blown turbo sign, but wondering if it's related to the other things), coming from the passenger side.
- It shifts hard occasionally, slamming into gear (automatic tip tranny) every now and then (mostly while downshifting).

Any ideas? Like I said, I replaced the MAF and it didn't help, so there goes $150. I checked the DVs, and one (passenger side) wasn't giving any suction, so I've ordered a new one to be in on Monday. Would a blown DV cause all this nonsense?

I'm super pissed that this happened while the shop had the car, but my calls to them haven't been helpful, as they just say "Hey, it was like that when you brought it to us".

Any help would rock. Thanks!

Any codes? You have the symptoms of bad ignition modules (on top of the air box). When were they last replaced? At least double check that they are hooked up right.

So, I FINALLY got this resolved. Turns out, the shop *forgot* to hook up the lower intercooler hose to the turbo (at least, I think that's the one - big hose near the front, passenger side). Hooked it back up and everything runs like a top again. Unbelievable. This, after they told me "oh, it was doing that when you brought it in".

Unreal.
