Sorry for the rush but my local sherrif's department just called to schedule my inspection for a reconstructed title on my 01 2.7t A6 and they threw me for a bit of a loop in asking for the engine and transmission serial #s for my car. I have never looked for these on either of my Audi's so any help with info on locating these numbers would be greatly appreciated! they want me there for the inspection in the morning!

 

Serial number or code? They shouldn't need the serial number - that makes no sense.

 

They are asking for serial numbers I found the one for the transmission it was on a tag right at the bottom of the bell housing but I have yet to find anything on the engine anyone have a clue where it might be?

I have done several cars and motorcycles like this and never had them ask for these numbers before and of course the first time would be on the car with the engine that is greased up and slid in with a shoehorn lol!
