P1475 code popped on the day after I bought my A6!
Hello all!
I'm new to both these forums and to owning an Audi. I just bought a 2000 A6 Quattro 2 days ago. Just yesterday on my way home (before I could even get it smogged) the check engine light popped on. I took it over to Kragen to have them read the code and it popped up as P1475. After a bit of research on the internet I've found what the code means but very few clues as to how to fix it. Going here shows me that it has to do with the hoses or the wiring to the Leak Detection Pump.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a good way to check if the pump is bad without replacing it? Is it easy to replace?
Thanks in advance.

P1475 is defined as:
EVAP Emissions Contr.LDP Circ Malfunction/Signal Circ.Open
Which means if you take it to the smog place they are going to fail the car. If you got it froma dealer I would definately have them look at it. I don't have the foggiest why it would happen unless they were in there dorking around with something else or reset the code so there was no engine light for you to buy it.
If you are stuck with the car "as-in" for some reason then I would take a look at the evap canister near the fuel tank, maybe it's just unplugged.
