oil and air filter change

oil and air filter change
Do any of you do your own oil and air filter change? Someone was telling me some places does not do oil changes on my 3.0 quattro a6 because of certain liability damages. Maybe from a aluminum oil pan or something. He was not to clear.
I looked in the manual and it does not give specific instructions on how to change the air filter.
I looked under the car and I did not know where to put my hydralic jack. I know you can put it on the sides but I dont see a place to put in the front. LIke my civic I jack it up in the front from a strong piece of exposed frame then slide the jack stands on the both sides to safely support the car while I change my oil. When I look under the Audi all I can see is plastic. I also heard that it has a aluminum frame so I am afraid I might damage it if I experiement on a spot when I use my hydralic jack.
For anyone that has knowledge and experience on this please respond. It will be greatly appreciated.

RE: oil and air filter change
The aluminum oil pan and steel drain plug wasnt one of audis bright spots. They tend to strip if your not carefull. The pinch welds will work to lift the car. They can bend if you have a small lifting pad thou. The beefy parts of the subframe are indeed under that plastic cover. Try sticking your fingers in the holes to see if you can feel the beefy parts of the subframe. You can also push up on the plastic to find the parts that are close to the plastic. Thats the beefy part you want. The car also doesnt have an aluminum frame, so its not extra fragile. Thealuminum framed cars arent really fragile either.

Not servicing aluminum pans would put them out of 50% or more of thier business. Newer Saturns, GM cars past 1990 or so, GM trucks past the mid 90's, V6 hondas, some 4-cyl hondas, BMWs, Mercedes, Audi, and some VWs are all aluminum panned. I'm missing alot of other cars, but you get the idea. I work at an oil change facility, we do Audis, we just charge $25 extra for the removal and re-installation of the skidplate.
The airfilter should be just a matter of locating the airbox and removing and clips attaching it, removing the old filter, and putting on a new one. Not too hard.

Get a good set of ramps so the jack is not necessary. I have rhino ramps and the lift the car enough to do an oil change.
Make sure you use a good oil filter - Mann, Mahle NOT bosch. Same for the air filter.
