Noise and vibration.... Tie rods?
Hi guys
So it seems I am in for a Tie Rod change or maybe control arm…
I feel vibration in the steering wheel only at 45-50mph speeds, mostly when braking or slowing down, coasting… not so much under acceleration, well I don’t feel it anyway… I ruled out rotors as it does it when not braking…. Error?
Also I have irregular noises coming from somewhere behind the steering wheel/dash. I think it might be the tie rod noise/vibration coming up via the steering rack behind the dash…
From the outside, the sound seems to come from higher than the lower control arms, upper section of wheel area…. Could be the control arm though but they seemed fine and strong when we checked them last.
So I am going to do the tip chip from VAST soon and since the car will immobilized for that, I’ll have it stored for 3 days at my shop, they’ll roll the front fenders, repaint my blades…. I’ll have them check that out too and hopefully the warranty will cover the rods/control arms
Anyone experienced the same symptoms?
Cheers
Brice
