New A6 owner question
I recently bought a 2000 A6 6 speed for my wife. The car had 57K on it (now has almost 59K )
We love the car, it's even better, then our `87 5000Q.
We recently took it on a ~1000 mile trip, and something strange happened on the way home. I ran it over 100 MPH, and the 2MPH warning came on. I thought that was strange, because I had read in the manual that 2MPH was the "hard" limit at 130. Later we stopped at a rest area, and when I started the car again the CEL was one. The car seemed to be running ok, acceleration seemed normal, idle was smooth, and temps all looked normal. I accelerated to ~80 and the 1MPH warning came on, so I slowed down to ~65 for the rest of the trip (~100 miles). When I pulled the code, it was a P1130. Searching google I have found two different definitions for P1130, most posts say it is a MAF sensor, but one said it was "left side running lean" or something like that, so which is it?
I have ordered the Bentley manuals, but they are back ordered.
Thanks for any help.

RE: New A6 owner question
17538 P1130 Long Term Fuel Trim mult Bank2 System too Lean.
Usually this code is paired with the code below if it is MAF related.
17536 P1128 Long Term Fuel Trim mult.,Bank1 System too Lean
The MAF effects both bank 1 and 2, so we can almost rule out the MAF. I would lean more toward an O2 sensor. Clear the code and see if it comes back, often times it's just a fluke.
Welcome to the forum by the way.

RE: New A6 owner question
Thanks, I have been a lurkier for a while trying to discover all the gothcas with this car before I bought. Nothing too surprising, typical Audi, fun to drive, can be expensive to maintain. I wanted an A8, but my wife likes manual's, so we compromised, she got her way. I do admit, the manual is slightly more fun.
I did clear the code and it hasn't come back.
I was also wondering if it might be the O2 sensor. It has been extremely cold here, and I have a Ford truck that when it is really cold the CEL will come on, it goes out on it's own though. The code on it is an O2 sensor, and I have always attributed it to the cold weather (never does it when it's above 20).
Any ideas on why the MPH warnings were (maybe still are, haven't had a chance to retest) acting strangely?
